City of Bandon Departments
The Departments are the administrative tools of the City Government. Each has a specific expertise and responsibility.
The City of Bandon owns and operates an electric, water, and waste water facility. It contracts with the Bandon Rural Fire District providing extraordinary service resulting in lower fire insurance premiums for property owners. The Bandon Police Department has an officer on duty twenty-four hours a day.
All departments are under the direction of the City Manager. The department heads confer with the City Manager on operating and administrative issues. Most have standing committees or commissions that are composed of members selected by the City Council. They review departmental plans, programs procedures, and suggest new methods to improve the standard of service rendered to the citizens of Bandon.
